Hungarian film director Béla Tarr figures to be a prominent guest at the 8th annual Golden Apricot Film Festival in Yerevan that will run from July 10-17.

This year, Tarr won the coveted FIPRESCI Prize for his film "The Turin Horse" at the Berlin International Film Festival. Tarr considers Rainer Werner Fassbinder as his main influence and idol.

In January 2011, Tarr joined the Board of Directors of Cine Foundation International, a recently formed cinema foundation and NGO for human rights.
