Found Guilty for Illegal Appropriation of Computer Data and Use of Hazardous Software

The Court of First Instance of Lori considered the accusations against A. Mkhoyan for illegal appropriation of computer data and use of hazardous software grounded.

According to the verdict, at the beginning of February, 2012 A. Mkhoyan using hazardous software aimed at getting or copying e-mail addresses and passwords of social website users had appropriated several personal pages of users in website odnoklassniki.ru.

Particularly, through sending a message to the user's personal page containing an offer of free points to provide "OK" which did not correspond to reality and through hazardous software had offered the user to fill in the e-mail address and the password in the appropriate part of the web-page.

The users, being in the state of misbelief, had filled in the data of their pages after which they were copied and immediately transferred to the program file which was a constituent part of the hazardous software used by A. Mkhoyan. As a result, A. Mkhoyan had illegally appropriated the personal web-pages of the users depriving them of the opportunity to use their pages.

Besides, without access, by guessing the password entering the personal page of one of the users, changing the safety data he had appropriated the personal page of the user. Then, in order to return it he had demanded and on July 13, 2012 through the same personal page had received charging cards data for the phone from the user.

A. Mkhoyan admitted the charge and asked to use an order of the accelerated trial.

Prosecutor General's Office reports that on the base of the obtained evidence according to the verdict dated June 6, 2013 the court found A. Mkhoyan guilty pursuant to the Parts 1 of the Articles 254 and 256 of the Criminal Code of the RoA.
