62 Companies Participate in 6th International DigiTec Business Forum in Yerevan

The 6th annual DigiTec Business forum was launched on June 21 with the theme of Smart Solutions for Smart Countries.

The official opening ceremony of the forum was led by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern. The forum is taking place from June 21-22 at the Armenia Marriott Hotel.

The objective of the forum is to support the creation of an innovative economy, based on digital solutions, and present all ICT products and services that modernize the economy under one umbrella.

This year 62 companies and projects will participate in the DigiTec Business Forum and present their technological solutions aimed at raising the effectiveness of businesses, of which 43 are local and 19 international. The business community will have the opportunity to learn about the following technological solutions: traffic flow management systems, enterprise and customer management systems, call centers and the latest telephone solutions, utility payment systems, cash transaction registration systems, 3D systems, as well as electronic services by state agencies.

During the forum local technological solutions will be featured to business visitors by Locator, Instigate, Unicopm, Synergy International Systems, Goods.am, MobRest.com, ScanCity, Webex Technologies, Impera Studio, Online-taxi.am, IT Service, Web Security, Pegasus Logic, PappleSoft, 3D Modeling Union, Clean Energy, Oktell, Sitronics, Cross Social and other companies. The state’s Electronic Management Services will be presented by the RA State Revenue Committee, RA State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, Ekeng, RA Ministry of Finance, RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues and Center of Management Technologies of Yerevan. Financial and banking solutions will be presented by two Armenian banks – Areximbank of the Gazprombank group and Ameriabank.

Themed Smart Solutions for Smart Countries, DigiTec Business Forum 2013 is attended by international companies from Singapore, Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia, who will share the experience of their countries and present their IT solutions for businesses. International participants include representatives of the International Union of Instruments and ITT Engineering, National Research University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Computer Sciences (MGUPI), AzRy, Bit4ID, High Tech Solutions and others.

“The forum provides a big opportunity to modernize business, state, and social processes by using the potential of technological companies and their innovative solutions. This said, the two-day forum can lead to positive changes our nation’s economy. UITE has organized the DigiTec Business forum since 2008 with the primary objective of investing and applying ICT in other sectors of the economy,” notes UITE Executive Director Karen Vardanyan.

The forum is supported by the USAID EDMC Project in an effort to encourage and ensure the participation of technological start-up companies and teams in the forum. “Today Armenian start-up companies offer innovative and interesting technological ideas and solutions that can be successfully applied to businesses in different sectors of the economy as well as to daily life,” notes EDMC Chief of Party Bruno Cornelio.

The two-day DigiTec Business Forum will feature the following events:

  • Technological seminars  – the latest technological solutions and services will be presented by local and international companies
  • Conference on issues in technology investment ICT and other innovative technology solutions will be discussed from the point of their effective application, methods and business issues 
  • DigiTec Business” tradeshow.

Entrance is free. Working hours are 10:00-18:00.
