An online petition drive has been launched to prevent the destruction of remaining historic Armenian houses in Moush, Turkey.

Organizers say that the Moush municipal government, in the hands of the ruling AKP party, has “gifted” the houses to the TOKİ agency (Mass Housing Board).

They say this is yet another attempt by the forces of Kemalism to erase any traces of an Armenia past.

“The Genocide of 1915 is being continued today in the form of a cultural and economic genocide,” the petition reads.

Organizers have already collected 469 signatures. Their goal is 10,000.
