Police Visit Yerevan Home of Anti-Putin Protest Organizer

Early this morning, Yerevan police visited the home of Narek Samsonyan, president of the Civic Consciousness NGO, claiming that they had received warnings that Samsonyan was planning “violent” actions to protest the arrival of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Armenia.

The NGO is one of the organizers behind an anti-Putin, anti-Customs Union, protest to take place later today in Yerevan.

On his Facebook page, Samsonyan says that he’s gone to the police to get answers regarding the incident and calls on supporters to turn out at the demonstration at 1pm in Liberty Square.
