Government Rejects Child Benefits for Jobless Moms
The Armenian government today rejected a draft bill that would provide childcare benefits to unemployed mothers as well as working parents.
As the law now stands, working parents can receive benefits until the child reaches two.
The government says the program would cost an additional 16 billion AMD which hasn’t been planned for in the 2014 draft budget.
