
New Report Lists Bribe Amounts Demanded by Armenian Judges
Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan released a “special report” the other day that outlines the amounts of bribes being demanded by Armenian court judges to decide in favor of a litigant.
The report, based on interviews with ordinary citizens, claims that, on average, the following bribe amounts are par for the course.
Court of First Instance: US$500 - $10,000
Court of Appeals: US$2,000 - $15,000
Court of Cassation: US$10,000 - $50,000
