Deputy Director of Armenia’s National Education Institute Anahit Bakhshyan today voiced concerns regarding the state of inclusive instruction in the country, especially in regards to children with special needs.

Bakhshyan said that oftentimes the ranks of teaching professionals include unqualified individuals solely hired to afford them a salary and provide them a means of sustenance.

“The social problems of one person are resolved at the expense of a group of children,” Bakhshyan said.

The education professional also pointed out that teachers in Armenia still do not understand that classroom instruction, even for pupils without special needs, requires a one on one approach.
