RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, speaking at a government cabinet session today, reported that the situation on the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact and Armenia’s northeastern border was “under control”.

This was the appraisal of Ohanyan according to a government communiqué.

The statement follows what official Armenian sources describe as an attempted Azerbaijani military incursion across the cease fire line into Artsakh on the night of January 19.

The next day, the RA Defense Ministry stated that one Armenian soldier died in the ensuing firefight.
