Carrying banners reading "Georgia, Hand Off Our Churches" and "No to Cultural Genocide" a large number of students from various Armenian colleges and universities marched towards the United Nations Office in Yerevan. The student activists handed over a letter addressed to UNESCO protesting the recent incidents involving Armenian churches and other cultural monuments in Georgia. Ms Vidal promised that she would personally see that the letter reached UNESCO. The students then marched towards the Georgian Embassy where Georgian Ambassador Reaz Gacheiladze accepted a protest letter on behalf of the students calling for a "halt to behavior unfitting a civilzed country that could lead to a disruption of centuries old friendship between the two nations". The Ambassador promisewd that the letter would be forwarded to the proper authorities in Tbilisi.
