New Short Film on the Genocide to Premier Next April in Yerevan

An 8 ½ minute film entitled “Resolution 106” that deals with the 1915 Genocide will have its premiere in Yerevan next April. The film, a joint project of Jirayr Dadasyan, Artistic Director of Pantomime Theater, and singer Flora Martirosyan, will be shot on location in Yerevan, Western Armenia and in Istanbul. Some sequences have already been filmed in Los Angeles by Flora Martirosyan and Michael Stone, the brother of actress Sharon Stone. The film will not only deal with the 1915 Genocide but will take a stand against violence and terrorism in general. The film’s director, Jirayr Dadasyan states that, “What is interesting in all this is the attitude of the youth towards genocide and violence.” He commented that the film will steer clear of condemnations and will only have a few scenes of the genocide. Only certain scenes from the funeral of the slain Armenian journalist Hrant Dink will be shown.
