Bernard Fassier – “We just don’t come to Karabakh to drink the mulberry vodka…”

Today, while in the NKR, French Minsk Group Co-Chair stated that, “Sometimes people think that Karabakh has been squeezed out of the negotiations process. What does this mean? If we are here so frequently it’s not only to eat the cuisine of Karabakh and drink the mulberry vodka but to work with your leaders”When asked about the apparent quickened pace of the negotiations Russian Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov commented, “No one is preparing to artificially delay the process. A specific speeding up can be expected in that the Moscow Declaration clearly calls on the Foreign Ministers to intensify their efforts. We foresee a meeting of the Foreign Ministers, with our participation, in the near future and I think there’s the possibility for this to happen by early December. Furthermore, we hope that in the foreseeable future we will successfully another meeting of the presidents, but we do not know when or where. I do not think there has been any haste, but the process needs to be quickened a bit.”
