Today, Human Rights Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan sent a letter to General Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan, regarding allegations of beatings that Grigor Voskerichyan was subjected to in the Nubarashen detention facility. On January 23, representatives form the Ombudsman's Office had travelled to the facility and met with Mr. Voskerichyan who complained that he had received no response from the written complaints lodged by his defense attorney, Stepan Voskanyan, with the Prosecutor's Office regarding the beatings. In the official letter sent to General Prosecutor Hovsepyan by the Ombudsman, it is noted that according to Article 180 of the ROA Criminal Judicial Code, violations that are filed must be immediately reviewed and evaluated.
