Trial of "March 1st Seven" Delayed Once Again

True to form, Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan opened then immediately declared another adjourment in the on-going trial of the "March 1st Seven" at the Shengavit District Court today. Once again, the reason for the postponement was the refusal of the defendants to stand up when the judge entered the couurtroom. Judge Martirosyan adjourned the trial to February 12. In his decision the judge once again stated that the term of the postponement is not included in the term of the imprisonment and according to tye decision of the court it is not subject to appeal. Melania Arustamyan, the lawyer for Hakob Hakobyan, stated that such a ruling can be viewed as sufficient grounds for applying to the RoA Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights for redress.
