National Assembly "March 1st" Ad-Hoc Committee to Extend its Deadline
MP Hovhannes Margaryan of the Rule of Law Party and a member of the National Assembly's Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the events of March 1-2, 2008, has stated that the committee is presently waiting for the Fact Finding Group to present its findings before making any conclusions themselves. MP Margaryan also stated that the committee would soon be petioning the government for an extension of its working deadline until either June or September of this year.
"In a number of areas our work is tied to the activities of the Fcat Finding Group. The cooperation that will increase between the two will afford us the possibilit to expose the truth of what happened, something that not only the parliament expects of us but society at large. In addition, by researching everything, we must present such a proposal that will afford us the possibility of ruling out such tragic events, to the greatest extent possible, in the future," stated the MP.
