At the request of "Hetq", Genral Lieutenant Movses Hakobyan, Defense Minister of the NKR and Commander of the NKR Defense Forces, offered the following commentary of the recent spate of Azerbaijani ceasefire violations along the line of demarcation between the two republics. - I wouldn't say it's anything new since the other side violates and continues to violate the ceasefire periodically, almost on a daily basis. In my estimation, this is a situation that stems from the following set of circumstances. First, by doing so, official Baku constantly seeks to create an impression of regional tension. Second, via provocative disinformation, Baku attempts to attribute its actions to the Karabakh side in order to present the Armenian armed forces as the aggressor in the eyes of the public. - In order to counter this non-constructive propaganda we have recently decided to present the reigning situation on the frontlines as it exists. And believe me, this situation doesn't at all speak to the alleged "peaceful" motives of Azerbaijan.
