At a press conference held today Ara Nranyan, a National Assembly Deputy affiliated with the Armenian Revolutionary Party, announced that the party would be fielding its own list of candidates for the upcoming May Yerevan municipal elections. "The list hasn't been drawn up yet and we're working on a pre-election program," Mr. Nranyan noted, adding that the program would outline possible resolutions to Yerevan's most pressing problems - environmental, sanitation, construction, transportation, etc. Mr. Nranyan noted that, "It isn't a secret that the pre-election program of the ARF has been the focus of attention prior to past presidential and parliamentary elections. Oftentimes, our policies and ideas are co-opted by other political forces. However, we take pride in the fact that these eventually become the property of the society at large."
