Marxist Leader Slams "HAK" over Mayoral Ticket Shenanigans

At a press conference held today, Armenia' Marxist Party leader Davit Hakobyan stated that the honeymoon between him and the Armenian National Congress (HAK) led by Levon Ter-Petrosyan was over. He expressed his anger over the HAK mayoral ticket in which he placed 22nd on the list. "After the list was compiled, neither was it debated by the political parties in HAK nor was it ratified at the HAL convention. The fate of all eighteen political parties was controlled by a narrow HHZh (Armenian National Movement) junta," Mr. Hakobyan fumed. He noted that at issue wasn't the fact that he came in at the 22nd spot on the ticket but the deterioration of political norms. "The ticket should be formulated by brains and not by protectionism and graft. In other words, who is the best person to place at the front lines? And this derives from our national interests," explained Mr. Hakobyan. Nevertheless, he stated that he still wasn't ready to leave the HAK ranks and that he wanted to direct the attention of the Central Electoral Commission, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the president to the HAK ticket regarding the "corrupt principles" on which it was formulated and that it wasn't debated in the appropriate body. "When these processes have been completed, we'll still have plenty of time to flee from the political field," Mr. Hakobyan noted.
