President Sargsyan - Mining Operations in Syunik Must Continue
President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Syunik Marz yesterday and declared that the region's three large mining concerns are ready to resume operations and called on them to do so.
The first stop on the president's tour was the Kajaran Copper-Molybdenum Plant where he briefly stopped to talk to workers. Afterwards, he visited the monument in Kapan dedicated to those who perished in World War II and the Artsakh liberation struggle.
Commenting on his trip, President Sargsyan stated, "Today, I began my tour at the Kajaran Plant and saw that the plant isn't merely up and running but that there are plans to expand operations. I am also closely familiar with the present situation at the Agarak and Kapan plants. I am convinced that it is due to the hard work and perseverance of the Kajaran Plant management that the plant is now fully operational. I have no doubts that management made some difficult choices along the way."
President Sargsyan then stated that the three mining concerns are in a position to operate and that he expected them to do so, even in conditions of zero-profit.
