Prosperous Armenia Party Rep - “The coalition was stronger with the ARF”

10_04-naira-zohrabyan1In an exclusive interview with "Hetq", Naira Zohrabyan, a Prosperous Armenia Party parliamentary deputy, stated that the ruling coalition was stronger with the presence of the ARF. "We respect the position of our coalition partner, the ARF. The step it took was its on decision and every political force reserves the right to decide when and where it will work. It is another matter as to the reasons cited by the Armenian Revolutionary Party for pulling out of the coalition. For us they are both acceptable and unacceptable," Ms. Zohrabyan stated to "Hetq". According to Deputy Zohrabyan they don't have the right to doubt the words of the president since he has frequently declared that the normalization of relations with Turkey is a process that can never nor does it now take place at the expense of the Karabakh conflict settlement or the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. 'What is important for us is that the normalization of relations with Turkey takes place without preconditions. Preconditions would be unacceptable for us if they arise. But since the president and foreign minister state that there are no preconditions involved, then we believe that there can be no closed borders in the 21th century and because we can't have a developing region while constantly maneuvering with an enemy frame of mind," Ms. Zohrabyan noted. When asked if the move by the ARF to leave the coalition might lead to its break-up, Deputy Zohrabyan responded, "The coalition was stronger with the ARF, but the coalition has set a number issues that it needs to tackle and I am confident that it will." She expressed the hope that the ARF would continue to cooperate regarding the important state and national issues of the day.
