Stepanavan police have arrested 51 year-old Hovik Z., a former forest warden at the "Hayandar" Stepanavan branch office, on charges of illegal tree cutting. Based on evidence supplied to the Stepanavan police on March 19, 2009, 354 trees were illegally harvested by the warden during the period of April 24, 2008 till February 28, 2009. Damages to the state are estimated to be more than 19.2 million drams.
