Public Transport Into Yerevan Cut; Opposition to Rally Today
A "Hetq" correspondent who resides in Abovyan reports that several minibus lines and a bus route that usually ferries people into Yerevan aren't working today. Local police told "Hetq" that they weren't aware of any transportation cutbacks, but promised to look into the matter.
What's so special about today? For one thing there is a HAK (Armenian National Congress) meeting scheduled to take place in Yerevan. Perhaps this time, as in the past, when the opposition is set to rally in the capital, orders from on high have been given to those who own and run these public transit routes to shut down service.
