The "Teghut Defense Group" reports that it will be collecting signatures for a petition to save the Teghut wilderness area from planned mining exploitation. Starting on May 20, between 7 and 9 pm, activists will gather at the Komitas Statue in downtown Yerevan soliciting signatures from passersby. The petition will be forwarded to the RoA President, Prime Minister, and National Assembly President. The group will be invites all citizens who value clean air and water and who wish to see Armenia's natural beauty preserved and safeguarded to sign the petition.
