The founding meeting of a new political party called "Haykakan Untroutyun" (Armenian Choice) took place on May 23 in Yerevan. At the meeting, Alexandre Qananyan and Armen Aghayan spoke at length about the current domestic political scene in Armenia and the need for systematic change. They argued that the principles of the newly formed political group included national security, government building, etc. A constitution for the party was ratified and a steering committee of seven individuals was formed.
