On March 17, 2009, Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Court of First Instance petitioned the RoA Chamber of Advocates to subject the defense lawyers of the "March 1st Seven" defendants to disciplinary proceedings. The lawyers in question are Hovik Arsenyan, Melanya Aroustamyan, Stepan Voskanyan, Varduhi Elbakyan and Liparit Simonyan. The Chamber, after reviewing the request, rescinded it and instead sent a petition to the Ministry of Justice, requesting that Judge Martyirosyan be subject to disciplinary proceedings. The Chamber of Advocates informed "Hetq" that they would refrain from divulging any details until they hold as press conference in a few days.
