Hetq's correspondent in Gyumri reports that Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, a member of the ruling Republican Party, redirected minivans normally serving several city routes to Yerevan. At around 9:00b this morning a crowd of some 500 people was thus ferried to Yerevan. Most of the crowd were municipal employees and staff of public institutions such as schools, libraries, etc. When the Hetq reporter asked the crowd were they were going one of them answered, "to a feast". Gyumri Deputy Mayor Gagik Manoukyan supervised the convoy.
