On June 15, the RoA Court of Appeals began and ended the "improper conduct" trial of Gagik Shamshyan, a photo-journalist with the "Aravot" and "Chorrord Ishkhanutyun" newspapers. Presiding Judge Mher Arghamyan let stand the ruling of the Kentron and Nork-Marash District Court which fined Mr. Shamshyan to the tune of 350 times his salary. Mr. Shamshyan had been charged with disobeying the directives of Judge Gagik Avetisyan and for verbally abusing him during the August 5, 2008 trial of Smbat Ayvazyan
