Harutyun Khachatryan Film Retrospective in Moscow

A seven film retrospective of director Harutyun Khachatryan, who heads the Golden Apricot Film Festival, took place during the 31st Moscow International Film Festival held last week. On hand at the "October" cinema house for the showing were a number of prominent film makers and stars and a bevy of reporters. Also present was Armen Smbatyan, RoA's Ambassador to Russia.

After the first day's showing, a reception was held at the Armenian Embassy in Moscow. Delivering the welcoming address was famous Russian film critic Andrei Plakhov. In the Moscow Film Festival catalog Mr. Plakhov wrote, "The films of Harutyun Khachatryan present the pure forms of cinematography, through which the director is able to express the sharp and terrible contradictions of the modern world."
