French Sister-City Delegation Visits Talin Bearing Gifts
The town of Talin in Aragatzotn Marz will soon be outfitted with a waste recycling plant as a gift from its sister-city of Bourg de Valence, France.
The agreement was reached when the benefactors from France recently visited Talin. According to the first stage of the project, Talin will receive two sanitation collection trucks by this September. By 2010, work on building the waste recycling plant will start.
Led by Valence Mayor Bernard Piras, the French delegation, here in Armenian from July 1-7, was hosted by Aragatzotn Regional Administrator Sargis Sahakyan. The two sides sat down and discussed the work that had been achieved resulting from the ten years of friendship and collaboration between the two peoples.
The French town has already gifted two public buses to Talin and , with the assistance of their French colleagues, French is now taught in Talin's schools as a second language. 24 pupils from Talin have spent vacations in France as guests of Valence.
