A tree planted in November, 2008, by former Arabkir District Leader Albert Yeritsyan in the park adjacent to the district's office was unceremoniously uprooted two days ago. It appears that Albert Yeritsyan, of "Yeritsyan and Sons Ltd.", is now person non-grata after having been discharged from his post on June 17 by newly-elected Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan. Mr. Yeritsyan's son Robert Yeritsyan, a former employee of the RoA Customs Service has been charged with the May 23 attempted murder of State Revenue Committee President Gagik Khachatryan. The tree planting was part of a series of events staged by the Arabkir District Office. Others who planted evergreen saplings included Yervand Zakharyan, Yerevan mayor at the time, and General Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan.
