According to preliminary information, it is suspected that engine fire caused yesterday's crash involving a Tupolev 154 aircraft flown by Caspian Airlines and that the plane exploded on impact during an attempted emergency landing. All 153 passengers on board, including 16 crew members, are feared to have perished when the plane went down just sixteen minutes after taking off from Tehran on a flight to Yerevan.
