4 Day "Deno Gold" Work Stoppage Over

The four day work stoppage at the Deno Gold Plant in Kapan came to an end today after a series of mutual concessions were agreed to by management and the 120 striking workers. The main grievance of the workers was the proposed new bonus plan tied to plant productivity.

Kapan Mayor Artur Atayan stated that plant management had agreed to review the bonus plan and make necessary modifications, after which new work contract would be drawn up. He also stated that Robert Faletta had agreed to review his decision to dismiss the forty workers that had originally come to his office with a list of grievances, threatening a strike if they weren't met.
