Vazgen Manoukyan Leads "Public Council" Delegation to NKR
NKR President Bako Sahakyan yesterday met a delegation of the Public Council of Armenia led by its president Vazgen Manoukyan.
A wide range of issues related to domestic and foreign policy matters were discussed at the meeting. Special attention was paid to political processes taking place in the two Armenian republics, to the importance of studying public opinion and trends as well as to enlarging cooperation in these fields.
President Sahakyan stressed the role of the Public Council for the state and the society. He emphasized that he held out great expectations form working with the Council in the future.
Afterwards, Mr. Manoukyan talked to reporters and said that the Council decided to visit Karabakh because developments there had a direct impact on the present and future state in Armenia. He noted that conditions in the NKR were much "calmer" than in Armenia and stresses that without a cooperative effort there would be no settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
