The Ring of Death for trees in Gyumri

01_08-Gyumri Those wishing to kill trees in Gyumri have come up with new and deadly ways to do just that, as evidenced by the accompanying photos. What you see here can be called - The Ring of Death. On July 27, the Arhaus Center was informed by local residents about the damage inflicted on these five poplar trees on Abovyan Avenue near the Holy Savior Church. As you can clearly see, someone has stripped the trees of bark 15 centimeters from their base. This direct attempt to kill off these trees has no justification whatsoever and is an outright crime. Several local residents we talked to suggested who might be responsible. "It quite likely that the owners of the building in the back did this to the trees." In addition, as it turns out, the trees do conceal the decorated dome of one of the new buildings going up. The Arhaus Center will be taking up the issue with the proper municipal authorities to have the culprits exposed and punished accordingly. These trees are city property and no one has the right to destroy them What automatically springs to mind is last year's performance in the Gyumri Dramatic Theater entitled, "The trees are dying standing". Today, in Gyumri, they are killing trees that are standing. Gevorg Petrosyan Coordinator, Arhaus Center, Gyumri
