RoA president Serzh Sargsyan today received Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze who extended the best wishes of Georgian President Saakashvili. The two stressed once again that there are no problems between the countries of Armenia and Georgia that cannot be resolved through dialogue and discussion. The two also broached several issues of current relevance, including freight tariffs, the demarcation of certain border areas and the agenda of an upcoming inter-governmental panel session. Issues related to the Armenian community in Georgia were also discussed and the steps being undertaken to resolve them. The Georgian FM stated that Tbilisi welcomed all proposals in this regard and that it was ready to give them serious consideration. President Sargsyan and FM Vashadze also discussed a number of regional issues, including the latest round of developments regarding the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations. Mr. Vashadze presented the position of Georgia on the matter and stated that open borders and normalized relations would help spur economic development and regional investment.
