Goris Army Captain Snatches Kids From Burning House

Captain Tigran Avetisyan, an artillery battery commander in Syunik, bravely rushed into a burning house in Goris to save three small children trapped inside.
After serving his daily tour of duty, Captain Avetisyan heard screams and cries coming from the house of Goris resident Vahram Grigoryan. Rushing to the scene and finding the front entrance blocked by flames, he kicked in a rear window and entered the house. The children’s cries for help lead him to where they had cowered in the suffocating smoke. Unfortunately, he was only able to pull two of them, Mariam and Diana, to safety. Tigran was not able to locate the third child, deaf and dumb since birth. Nevertheless, the grieving family says they will never forget Captain Avetisyan’s act of courage. The Minister of Defense personally bestowed Captain Avetisyan with a Medal of Courage, saying that his act of self-sacrifice is an inspiration to all who serve in the defence of the country.
