50,000 March to Presidential Palace Against Protocols

At around 7 p.m. on Friday, more than 50,000 individuals protesting the expected signing of a protocol document between Armenia and Turkey marched to the RoA Presidential Palace to submit a list of demands to President Serzh Sargsyan. The declaration was read by ARF Supreme Council member Armen Roustamyan who stated, "Mr. President, we, the participants in this thousand strong protest march believe that the foreign policy of Armenia has been diverted from the principle of normalizing Armenia-Turkey relations without preconditions." Joining the march were 12 political parties and over 60 civic organizations. The statement concluded by warning President Sargsyan that he would be held responsible for any unexpected consequences of the protocols.
