ANKARA - On October 21, the Armenian-Turkish protocols will be submitted to the Turkish parliament for ratification. In a few days, the Turkish foreign ministry will sign them.
This was the opinion expressed by Goksel Bogyut, who heads the press division of the Turkish parliament, to a group of visiting Armenian journalists.
A special committee will be set up in the parliament to study the protocols and decide whether to ratify them or not. According to a new set of procedural rules regarding international protocols, three hearings will be devoted to the Armenian-Turkish document.
Mr. Bogyut made no predictions as to when the parliament would specifically ratify the protocols but stated, “When the Karabakh issue is resolved, that is the day that the protocols will be ratified”.
