After sacking Gevorg Petrosyan as Minister for Labor and Social Affairs, RoA President Serzh Sargsyan has appointed Mkhitar Mnatsakanyan to replace him. Mr. Mnatsakanyan was elected to the RoA National Assembly on the Prosperous Party of Armenia ticket in 2007 and is President of the Standing Committee on the Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs. A medical man by profession, Mkhitar Mnatsakanyan is an honoured professor of Moscow Academy of European University, honoured professor of European University. In 2001, he was elected President of the Armenian Red Cross. Mr. Gevorg Petrosyan, who got the boot, is also a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party headed by Gagik Tsarukyan.
