“De Facto” magazine’s Man of the Year for 2009, Prosperous Armenia Party President Gagik Tsarukyan, failed to show at today’s press conference where he was scheduled to receive the award personally from the editor of the magazine. Instead, Prosperous Armenia Party MP, Naira Zohrabyan, showed up and received the award for him. Apparently angered by the no-show of Mr. Tsarukyan, one of the reporters commented to Ms. Zohrabyan, “Now I understand what they mean by saying that you are the male in the party.” The MP smiled in response. It was later announced that Mr. Tsarukyan had been called away to Moscow on business at the last minute.
