New Year at the Armenian Old Age Home in Kollata
On 30th December 2009, Very Reverend Father Khoren Hovhannisyan, pastor of the Armenians in India and the manager of the Armenian College & Philanthropic Academy accompanied by a group of students of the college initiated the New Year celebrations by visiting the Armenian Catchick Paul Chater Home in Kolkata.
The old age home has thirteen residents who require a lot of love and attention. The students sang for them giving them immense joy and happiness. They also distributed presents amongst the elderly.
The Pastor wished them A Very Happy New Year and A Merry Christmas, and assured them that the Armenian College students, Church Committee and he would do their very best to fill the void in their lives by always being there for them.
“Your grey hair is testimony to the difficulties you have faced in life and so we must honour it through our love and attention. I come to you not only as a pastor but also as a son and thereby I shall always stand by you…” said Father Khoren.
