Civil Society Organizations Oppose Proposed Changes to the Law

The Civic Development and Partnership Foundation (CDPF) in Armenia reports that some 100 civil society organizations have declared their opposition to a bill designed to change the law regarding their activities. The organizations have demanded that the RoA National Assembly and government organize public hearings on the proposed changes that they claim will serve to hinder the development and establishment of civil society in Armenia.

The CDPF says that the organizations in question have circulated a petition drive against the proposed changes they claim will lead to greater bureaucratic monitoring of civil society and a possible return to "neo-bolshevism".
