An outspoken political analyst, Ruben Hakobyan, said today that the Armenian government was able to use the Armenia-Turkish Protocols to redirect public attention from pressing domestic problems. "We must pay more attention to our lives within the country, given that the fate of Armenia is being decided within, not without," said Mr. Hakobyan. The analyst said that it was fairly easy to daily talk about Armenian-Turkish relations and to neglect domestic problems. "Today, we are letting the country slip from our grasp. Armenia is growing weaker by the day, people are abandoning it. In this condition, we will not be able to resist looming threats. The situation has been made worse given that the issue of Armenian-Turkish relations has split the nation further," Mr. Hakobyan said.
