Members of the RoA Human Rights Office split down the line after they reviewed the issue of whether Nikol Pashinyan, recently sentenced to seven years imprisonment, should have been granted an official pardon.
Two of the four member review panel say he shouls have been pardoned, while the others argue that Pashinyan is not eligible for such amnesty. RoA Human Rights Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan said that in cases of such a split decision the law necessitates a judgement in favour of Pashinyan. Mr. Harutyunyan said that he would review the matter himself and announce his conclusions.
