Polish Prime Minister in Yerevan on Official Visit; Economic Accord Signed
A Polish delegation headed by the Prime Minister Donald Tusk, arrived in Armenia today on a one day official visit.
During the official reception at the Presidential Palace, RoA President Sargsyan noted that Armenian-Polish relations have great potential and that Armenia wishes to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres. "There are two very important bases for it – the positive relations between our peoples and the Eastern Partnership Program co-authored by Poland," President Sargsyan said.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Armenian-Polish relations are steadily developing and that Poland is interested in expanding the framework of bilateral cooperation with Armenia.
President Sargsyan mentioned the ongoing cultural exchange between the two people and the existence of the Polish-Armenian community as a firm basis for deeper relations. Touching upon the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Polish Seim in 2005, President Sargsyan said it’s another evidence of mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples.
Prime Minister Tusk also met with RoA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. The meeting resulted in an agreement to create an intergovernmental commission that will discuss the economic, political, financial and cultural issues on bilateral agenda.
