Akhaltska Church Reconsecrated; Benefactor Flies in from Kazakhstan

Yesterday, the St. Hreshtakapetats Armenian Apostolic Church located in the village of Tzir, in the Georgian region of Akhaltskha, was reconsecrated by Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Church in Georgia. On hand for the ceremony was Aleksandr Matevosyan, a businessman from Kazakhstan who financed the reconstruction of the church. Work on the church began back in the 1990’s and the project was sped up due to the efforts of Levon Matevosyan, a resident of Tzir.
