Vayk Regional Police report that on April 11, at approximately 8:40 pm, Vachik Petrosyan, the Mayor of Khachik was killed in a car accident when his vehicle swerved off the road and tumbled down the canyon. The accident occurred on the Areni-Khachik stretch of highway. The passengers riding in the car miraculously survived and were rushed to the hospital in Yeghegnadzor. Their present medical condition is yet unknown.
