Bomb Scare Empties Two Schools; Police Call it a Hoax
Earlier today, Yerevan police received an anonymous phone stating that bombs had been placed in two High Schools 78 and 172. Students were quickly evacuated the police cordones off the two buildings.
Bomb sniffing dogs failed to turn up any suspicious package, let alone explosives at the two sites. Police reported the incidents as a hoax. Photo-journalist Gagik Shamshyan reported from the site that Astvatzatur Petrosyan, Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations, had arrived at the site of the two schools on Baghramyan Avenue. Once police and fire officials sounded the all-clear, students and teachers were allowed to return to the building.
