Government Earmarks 18.9 Million AMD for Genocide Commemorations

At a government session held today, presided over by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, it was decided to allocate 18.9 million AMD from the state reserves to organize commemorations marking the 95 anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. The money will specifically go towards a memorial concert at the Spendiaryan State Opera and Ballet Academic Theater, an exhibition devoted to the works of Italian painter Anselmo Francesconi and the publication of various documentary and academic literature on the subject. PM Sargsyan noted that a multifaceted set of programs had been drafted due to the joint efforts of various state agencies and non-profit organizations that will kick-off on April 16.
