PM Sargsyan - Digital Broadcasting Will Improve Programming
At today's government cabinet session, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan gave preliminary approval to a draft bill regarding chnages and amendments to the existing legislation on TV and radio broadcasts. The changes specifically apply to the plan to digitalize programming in Armenia.
PM Sargsyan was pleased to note that the draft legislation had undergone rigorous scrutiny according to international standards. He said the new bill would allow for the improvement of political, cultural, educational and children's programming in Armenia and thus meet the needs of a wide ranging audience. He also claimed that Armenian TV and radio broadcasting would be much less dependent on economic factors.
